Short Trip to Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park – Skiing on Outtakka and Rautuvaara
Earlier this year I got a new pair of skiers that should compromise between distance and downhill skiing, with a light telemark binding. Living near Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, I thought it might be a good idea to test the new equipment there before going for longer trips with it. Thus I decided to ski into Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, spend two nights in the Rautuoja open wilderness hut, and used the days to ski up and down the nearby fells Outtakka and Rautuvaara.

Enjoying Sauna in Hannukuru – Last Skiing Trip for this Season?
While the temperatures so far haven’t went over 2 or 3 degress plus, the forecast for the next week suggests that the skiing season will find an early end this spring. Time to enjoy a last trip into the nearby fell area, and to combine that with a sauna turn in Hannukuru, in the middle of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Pyhäkero in Autumn: Biking and Hiking in Snowy Landscape
Since about one week the landscape here is covered with about ten centimeters of snow, thus also the Pyhäkero fell shines with its white cover over the lake Ounasjärvi. Because of the little snow coverage it is still possible to cycle, so I took my bike and went for a short trip to reach the summit of the white Pyhäkero.
