Since the snow is already gone, I took a short bike trip up on Jyppyrävaara, to get a look on the ice cover of lake Ounasjärvi – before it is gone for the summer.
Since I enjoyed the view so much, I also went down to the shore of Ounasjärvi, and spent some time there, watching migratory birds that already came back to Lapland ..
While I have been traveling for about a week, I was looking forward to come back home to Enontekiö and to take advantage of the snow before it is gone. When a friend told me, he was planning to ski to Hannukuru from Pallas, I thought, it would be a pretty good destination for meeting him and furthermore to jointly enjoy the amazing sauna in Hannukuru. Another beautiful day was inviting us to bike up to the Pyhäkero open wilderness hut, from where we continued our journey to the summit of the Pyhäkero fell. After reaching the summit just in time for the sun set, we enjoyed the scenery while eating some delicious cloudberries that we picked on the way.
