A rare experience: In the past years, there was already too much snow for ice skating, once the ice was thick enough to allow to safely move on the lake. This year there was little precipitation yet. Temperatures of below -20°C in the past days where, however, cold enough to provide an ice cover with the thickness that allows to skate over the lake.
Since the days are already short (ca. some 5 hours daylight), and the sun soon will disappear for several weeks, we had to take advantage of the circumstances and went for a short ice skating tour. Though, beside a lonesome ice fisher, we were the only ones enjoying the 12cm thick ice.
