Cycling Through the Fells

On top of a hard snow cover, it is currently possible to go for extended winter cycling.

It has already been quite warm (up to 11 degrees Celsius) and the snow seemed to have suffered a lot. However, after a week long warm spell more average like temperatures came back: Chilling nights with less than minus 10 degrees Celsius froze the wet snow, making it very hard and well carrying. While in summer the fells are rocky and it is challenging to cycle through, currently it is possible to cycle anywhere without the need for trails. Hence, I thought, maybe it is time to change the means of transport for a day and replace the skis with my bike, to explore the fells of the Pallas-Yllästunturi national park.
